The drive into the Wet Mountain valley in Colorado is stunning. After winding your way through the San Isabel granite and the bighorn sheep that call Hardscrabble canyon home, you top out to the breathtaking view that is the Sangre de Cristo mountain range.
I’ve always had an love for the mountains. An odd notion, considering I grew up in Nebraska; which has a beauty of its own. Maybe its because I grew up in Nebraska that I don’t take views like this for granted. I dream of living here some day; waking up to views of the 13ers & 14ers that line the valley. But until that day comes, I’ll drive the hour & a half down to the valley and revel in the beauty it wraps around those who wander its way.
